The PAC, Health Coverage for Maine has filed its first PAC report with the Ethics Commission. One thing is clear; the PAC should be renamed to the Don Sussman PAC. Mr. Sussman, a long-time donor to political causes in Maine including CasinosNO, numerous candidates and party committees is in big for the opposition to the people's veto. Mr. Sussman dropped $100,000 dollars into the pool, out of $110,050. The other $10,000 came from the State Employees Association. Perhaps the MSEA is planning on switching all of their employees over to Dirigo Health......HA!
Mr. Hark, kicked in 50 bucks, which would make him the only actual citizen of Maine to donate money to either PAC. Of course he got $625 bucks back as salary. He is the organizer of the opposition.
In terms of expenses, most of the money has gone to GG Direct a mail house in Portland and another three thousand to the Maine People's Alliance, most likely for the nurse ratchet phone calls urging folks not to sign the petition. Atkins printing in Waterville also received just over $7000 dollars for printing.
