Vets in Maine for Obama, too

Former Congressional candidate Adam Cote will chair a committee of Maine veterans who support Barack Obama for President.

Staffers for Obama’s campaign in Maine made the announcement in Bangor Wednesday with Steve Robinson, former Airborne Ranger and Gulf War veteran. Robinson is the Executive Director of the National Gulf War Resource.

Cote came in second in the primary for the First Congressional District Democratic Party nomination. He served both in Bosnia and Iraq.

“Barack Obama has fought hard for veterans and military families and will be a strong advocate for us as President,” Cote said in a release. “Barack Obama will restore America’s commitment to those who serve our country by building a 21st Century VA and ensuring that veterans get the care and benefits they have earned.”

Earlier Wednesday, a different coalition of Maine veterans announced their support for Republican candidate John McCain.
