Wednesday morning notes from Denver

DENVER – Some bits and pieces from Denver this morning:

  • Senate candidate and U.S. Rep. Tom Allen is scheduled to go on at 6:53 today Eastern time (4:53 Mountain time), though conventions frequently run behind schedule. Allen will appear with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and three other Senate challengers. They are also holding a press conference later this morning.
  • Hillary Clinton is meeting with her supporters at 1 p.m. Mountain time, two hours before ballots must be turned in.
  • The Maine delegation will mark their ballots for Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama this morning, and the results will be tallied at 5 p.m. Eastern time (3 p.m. Mountain time.)
  • This morning the Maine delegation heard from Dan Esty, who works on energy policy for Barack Obama, Sandy Felden of the AFL-CIO and Daniel Weeks of Americans for Campaign Finance Reform. Check back for more details on those later.
  • Guests and alternates from the Maine delegation will get some help from the Maryland, Arkansas and Oklahoma delegations, who may give up some of their floor credentials so more Mainers can be on the floor for Allen’s speech.
  • This morning, most of the Maine delegation has gone off to delegate service day, participating in community service projects all over the city.
