Hurricane Gustav and the RNC: Taking a day by day approach

The Maine RNC delegation is taking a day by day approach in coordinating convention events in response to Hurricane Gustav, a major storm hitting the Gulf Coast.

Today, the delegation breakfast was the only delegation event. At 1 Mainers will head to the Xcel Energy Center, where the convention is being held, for a truncated session where only necessary business will be done. That session is expected to last a few hours.

State convention officials were not sure how the rest of the week will play out.

Tuesday Maine will hold a joint breakfast with the Vermont delegation, where seven surrogates for Sen. John McCain will speak.
