A Bangor news anchor looks like Sarah Palin, and that’s enough to get hate mail, according to CNN.com.

Cindy Michaels is an anchor for WVII ABC 7 and Fox 22 in Bangor.

According to CNN, Michaels said overall the comparison to the Republican vice presidential nominee and Alaska governor is an honor – but it’s caused some grief. They played a couple of her messages:

“We hope you don’t keep that hairdo. You don’t want to be tarred by that same brush. It’s not coming off very well, ok?” one message said.

“What is this K-mart version of Sarah Palin, what did you do, lose your little cheap-o glasses?” another message said.

Michaels told CNN: “I’m not Sarah Palin, they know I’m not Sarah Palin. So to say cutting things to me just because I’m wearing my hair up and a pair of glasses, there’s just something strange about that.”
