Adam Cote, who chairs the Maine Veterans for Barack Obama committee, issued the following statement last night in response to the debate between Presidential candidates Obama (D) and John McCain (R).

Cote is a former Congressional candidate and a columnist for PolitickerME.com.

He wrote:

“In tonight’s debate, Barack Obama showed that he is the right choice to lead America at this challenging time. 

“While John McCain wants to continue the same failed Bush-Cheney foreign policies that have taken us down the wrong path, Sen. Obama will finish the fight against Al Qaeda, refocus on winning in Afghanistan, and end the war in Iraq responsibly. 

“That is the leadership we need to get our country back on track, make America more secure, and restore our country’s standing in the world.”
