PISCATAQUIS COUNTY:

HD 26 – Safe Republican: Piscataquis County is traditionally a Republican stronghold. Incumbent James Annis (R-Dover-Foxcroft) is leaving, and Paul Davis, Sr. (R-Sangerville) and Jayson Allain (D-Dover-Foxcroft) hope to replace him. While Allain, an Iraq War veteran, is said to be putting up a good fight, Davis is a former state Senate Republican leader and will most likely take this one easily.

HD 27 – Safe Republican: Incumbent Peter Johnson (R-Greenville) won by a solid margin in a 2007 special election, events that usually favor Democrats. He is up for his second term against James Glavine (D-Beaver Cove). Johnson should have no problem hanging onto this seat.
