Local candidates hit the airwaves

Have you seen an ad for a local candidate on television? Let us know!

Normally local candidate coffers don’t allow them to purchase television ad space, but this year there have been a few exceptions.

State Senate candidate Robert Sezak (D-Fairfield) has an ad filmed outside of a hospital, talking about his commitment to improving Dirigo’s health coverage and affordability. Sezak is challenging Peter Mills (R-Cornville).

The Lincoln County Democratic Committee has an ad featuring all its candidates simply urging people to vote Tuesday.

Paul Dumas (D-Mexico), a candidate for probate judge of Oxford County, has an ad out touting his 35 years of legal experience and reputation for fairness. He is up against incumbent Dana Hanley (R-Paris).

“If elected this fall, I will work hard to be the best probate judge that Oxford County has ever had,” he says.

He has another ad explaining the responsibilities of the probate judge – to protect the young and the elderly and oversee the administration of trust and estates.

Both ads feature an endorsement by Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant.
