Probate registers, judges prove to be some of the closest races

Several races in Oxford and York County for the Register of Probate and Probate Judge slots appear to be neck and neck.

The following results are preliminary, as reported by the Bangor Daily News, which has 76 percent reporting.

For the Oxford County Register of Probate, Democrat Bruce Rood is beating incumbent Tom Winsor 51 to 49, holding a 437 vote advantage.

For the Oxford County Judge of Probate, incumbent Dana Hanley, a Republican, edges Paul Dumas Jr., a Democrat, 50.4 to 49.5 percent, with a 241 vote advantage.

There are 11 Oxford County towns that have yet to report, so these numbers could change dramatically.

The York County Register of Probate race is very close as well. There, Carol Lovejoy edges Bobby Mills 50.9 percent to 49 percent – a margin of 189 votes.

There are 23 York County precincts that have yet to report.
