Dem staffers in state head to Minnesota, Georgia

Staffers for the Maine Democratic Party and the Tom Allen campaign are headed to Minnesota and Georgia, where U.S. Senate contests are still undecided.
Two staffers from the Allen campaign are going to Georgia, where a runoff election is slated between incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and Jim Martin (D-Ga.)
Ten staffers from the party are going to Minnesota, where a recount is occurring in the race between Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) and Al Franken (D-Minn.)
In a statement, party chair John Knutson said: "The fact these staffers were tapped to work on the run-off and recount campaigns that are so important to determining the leadership that President Obama will have in the Senate speaks volumes about the talent on Tom Allen's campaign and at the Maine Democratic Party."
