Three recounts down, no results changed

After a recount today, Oxford County Commissioner Steven Merrill (R-Norway) is still the winner in his re-election bid against Charleen Chase (D-Mexico).

Preliminary results gave Merrill a 25-vote victory. After today’s recount, the margin increased to 44 votes, with a final tally of 5,404 to 5,360.

There are two recounts remaining, which will be completed Thursday and Friday. Two were completed last week, which upheld the initial tallies in state Senate Districts 2 and 15.
