Douglass nominated as state auditor

Neria Douglass has been nominated for another term as state auditor by the Democratic caucus, running unopposed. She is expected to be confirmed when the Legislature meets Wednesday.

“You (the Legislature) are doing important work, and the work is important to me,” she told the caucus. “I am one of your important backup positions."

Douglass was nominated by Reps. Peggy Pendleton (D-Scarborough) and Dawn Hill (D-York).

“She has the judgment we need, and you can count on her to look for money that should be returned to the general fund,” Pendleton said.
