Obama projected to win Maine

Barack Obama is the projected winner of Maine's four electoral votes, according to CNN.

With less than 1 percent of precincts reporting, the Democrat leads the early results with 66 percent of the vote, while John McCain has 33 percent.

Pindell says Maine will go all blue except for Collins

Democrats will keep both Maine congressional seats as part of a national trend that will net them at least seven U.S. Senate seats and sixteen House seats nationwide, according to James Pindell, the editor of Politicker.com's Pindell Report, which provides independent analysis of federal and state races.

Pindell says that Republican Susan Collins will win re-election to the U.S. Senate and that Barack Obama will carry Maine and win its four electoral votes.

Senate candidate ordered to reimburse state for misspent campaign funds

State Senate candidate Dana Kadey has been ordered to reimburse the state for personal purchases made with public campaign funds.

As first reported last week by PolitickerME.com, purchases made by the independent candidate from Princeton -- including a GPS unit, cooler, truck cap and roof rack -- were under review by the Maine Ethics Commission.
