The Maine House will stand at 96 Democrats, 55 Republicans and one independent, according to preliminary results.
This is a six-seat gain for the Democrats. The outgoing Legislature stands at 90 Democrats, 59 Republicans and 2 independents.
Seven incumbents were unseated: Robert Walker (R-Lincolnville), Donna Finley (R-Skowhegan), Tim Carter (D-Bethel), Michael Vaughan (R-Durham), John McDonough (R-Scarborough), Don Marean (R-Hollis) and Bonnie Gould (R-South Berwick).
