Summers continues hedge fund attack on Pingree

A Rising Tide trains young Mainers in grassroots campaigning and organizing. It will train its 13th class of 30 people this weekend.

2010 gubernatorial prospects take wait-and-see approach

Early returns show Allen, Pingree, Summers leading

Tom Allen is leading Tom Ledue in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate. With 75 percent of the vote counted, Allen has 85 percent of the vote in to Ledue’s 14 percent.

AFSCME endorses Strimling

The Maine Policy Board of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) has endorsed Democrat Ethan Strimling for the 1st Congressional District seat in Congress.

The union, with 3,000 members in Maine, believes Strimling is the best candidate to stand for Maine's working families in Washington. Strimling "understands the concerns and the needs of Maine workers and their families," Will Towers, chairman of AFSCME, said in a statement.

Monday, June 2:

-Adam Cote’s campaign has emerged as a major contender. In an e-mail, the Cote campaign quotes a ‘(Chellie) Pingree staffer’: "So, the race is coming down to the wire. My take is that Adam is closing and it comes down to Adam vs. Chellie."
