Leadership elections video: Majority whip candidates

Seth Berry (D-Bowdoinham), who was elected House majority whip Thursday, was up against five other candidates: Cynthia Dill (D-Cape Elizabeth), Herb Clark (D-Millinocket), Richard Cleary (D-Houlton), Mike Carey (D-Lewiston) and Don Pilon (D-Saco).

Seth Berry elected as majority whip

State Rep. Seth Berry (D-Bowdoinham) was just elected House majority whip.

In a six way contest between Reps. Cynthia Dill (D-Cape Elizabeth), Richard Cleary (D-Houlton), Mike Carey (D-Lewiston), Don Pilon (D-Saco) and Herb Clark (D-Millinocket), Berry got more than 50 percent of the vote, winning on the first ballot.

Long-time legislator to run for majority whip

State Rep. Herb Clark (D-Millinocket), who is running for his 11th term in the Legislature, has thrown his hat in the ring to be the House assistant majority leader.

Also running are Reps. Seth Berry (D-Bowdoinham), Cynthia Dill (D-Cape Elizabeth) and Don Pilon (D-Saco).
