Chellie Pingree on fact-finding mission to Iraq

This release comes to us from Willy Ritch, Rep. Chellie Pingree's Communications Director:
U.S. Representative Chellie Pingree (D-ME) has led a Congressional delegation on a fact-finding mission to Iraq. Pingree, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, headed up a delegation made up of six Members of Congress.  In addition to Pingree, the delegation includes Rep. Bobby Bright (D-AL), Rep. Duncan Hunter, Jr. (R-CA), Rep. Stephen Cohen (D-TN), Rep Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) and Rep Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL.)

Sunday in Baghdad Pingree and the delegation met with General Ray Odierno, Commander of Multi National Forces Iraq, as well as Iraqi officials. The delegation had lunch with service members serving in Iraq.

Summers continues hedge fund attack on Pingree

He called for her to give the money back.

UPDATE: Pingree released a second ad Thursday.

 

First Congressional District candidate Chellie Pingree, a Democrat, released an advertisement Tuesday centered on her opposition to the war in Iraq – both in 2002 when she ran for Senate and now.

Strimling accuses Pingree of setting up ‘dirty trick’ through donation

Ethan Strimling’s campaign has returned a $250 donation from a Connecticut hedge fund, saying it was given as a “dirty trick” by one of Chellie Pingree’s supporters.

Strimling and Pingree are both Democratic candidates in the 1st Congressional District race. Six Democrats and two Republicans are seeking the seat.

Pingree’s campaign said they know nothing of the donation, and public records searches show the fund’s founder had donated to Strimling’s interests in the past.
