ST. PAUL, Minn. - The media attention surrounding Sarah Palin's 17-year old daughter's pregnancy is awful for the baby's future, according to Maryland Republicans.
"Could you imagine every newspaper in the country making you sound like you are a inconvenient mistake for your grandmother?" John Fiastro asked during an interview with PolitickerMD.com. Fiastro is president of the 42nd District Republican Club.
"What I'm concerned about is 15 to 20 years from now and this kid realizes who his grandmother is and goes back and does research ... all these journalists will make this baby sound like a mistake," he said.
Del. Tony McConkey (R-Anne Arundel County) called criticisms from the opposition irrational.
"It's hilarious -- the Democrats -- they feel that they can't be held to any standard because they don't believe in any morals. They don't preach any morals so they can't be held to any standard," he said. "Yet they want to hold Republicans to a higher standard."
