Kittleman now Senate minority leader, Jacobs becomes whip

Update

Maryland's Senate Republican Caucus re-organized its leadership on Tuesday.

State Sen. Allan Kittleman (R-West Friendship) got bumped up from minority whip to minority leader and state Sen. Nancy Jacobs (R) will reside as the caucuses new minority whip.

The reassignment came after state Sen. David Brinkley (R-New Market) announced he would step down as minority leader in August.

The caucus meets once a year to elect party leadership. After a senator is nominated for a position they must receive a majority vote to be confirmed. The vote was unanimous for both Kittleman and Jacobs.
