High turnout on Kratovil's home turf

STEVENSVILLE -- Turnout is high in Queen Anne's County, Frank Kratovil's home county, according to at least one poll worker there.

Around 8:30am on Tuesday, Matapeake Elementary School in Stevensville was clocking in at about 3 votes a minute, according to one poll worker, adding it was certainly a lot busier than previous years.

Kratovil, the Queen Anne's County state's Attorney is currently running against state Sen. Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville) for Maryland's 1stCongressional District seat.

A spokeswoman at the Baltimore County Board of Elections said lines were long and turnout was high compared to previous years.

Many observers argue high turnout on the Western Shore benefits Harris and high turnout on the Eastern Shore benefits Kratovil.
