Marylanders have high expectations for President-elect Barack Obama, according to a new poll.
According to the survey, paid for and conducted by the Annapolis-based market research firm OpinionWorks, 32 percent of Marylanders think Obama will do a "great" job as president, 34 percent said "good," 12 percent said "so-so," and 6 percent predicted a "bad job." Seventeen percent were not sure or refused to respond.
The poll interviewed a total of 1,015 randomly-selected Maryland adult residents by telephone from Nov. 20 to Nov. 30. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
Compared to a similar Quinnipiac Poll taken Nov. 6 to Nov. 10, Marylanders have a 4 percent higher positive expectation for Obama than the United States as a whole.
Obama won Maryland 62 percent to 37 percent in the 2008 general election.
