'I'll see your Steny, and raise you a Pelosi'

Rep. Doris Matsui (D-Calif.) has nabbed the sought after seat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee that Rep. Al Wynn gave up when he left Congress.

Fellow Marylander Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Towson) was the other top contender, but alas, The Hill reports that even Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's support was not enough to put him over Speaker Nancy Pelosi's home-state choice.

Sarbanes will continue to hold his seats on the Education and Labor, Natural Resources, and Oversight and Government Reform committees.
