"It's been dribbles," Gloria Moore, chief election judge at the Evangel Cathedral location in Upper Marlboro, said.

According to Moore, as of 11:00 a.m., 104 people had cast a ballot in a contest expected to be won by activist Donna Edwards (D-Fort Washington).

"Some people seem to have voter fatigue," Edwards told PolitickerMD.com, referring to several recent special elections that have occurred, particularly in Montgomery County.

"We had to give a civics lesson this morning," she added.

Dan Weber, Edwards' communications director, said the cathedral site was one of the largest in the district.

"It's a clear contrast from the primary," Edwards said of the February's Democratic primary.

Edwards did not seem concerned about the low turnout, saying, "It's to be expected."

Polls are open until 8:00 p.m.
