Van Hollen highlights attendees at Kratovil fundraiser

Chris Van Hollen (D-Kensington), the chairman of the 2008 Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC, was the honorary host of a fundraiser held on behalf of congressional candidate and State's Attorney Frank Kratovil (D-Stevensville) at Cottingham Farm in Easton, this evening.

Kratovil will face Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville) in the November election in Maryland's First Congressional District.

Democrats, Republicans debate in First District

Seven candidates, including Republicans Wayne Gilchrest, Andy Harris, and Robert Banks, along with Democrats Frank Kratovil, Christopher Robinson, Steve Harper, and Joseph Werner were present. GOP candidates E.J. Pipkin and Joe Arminio were absent.

Democrats stay above the fray in District 1

With Republican infighting already reaching a fever pitch in the race for U.S. Congress from the First District, Democrats are increasingly confident in their chances of capturing the seat.
