CP's October Page Views Are A Record Breaker--Again!

Continuing to build on September's skyrocketing and record-breaking stats, October again broke another record, with over 27,000 page views for the first time in any one month. Last September's page views were just above 25,000. Visits this past month exceeded 14,600 but could not meet last months record of just over 16,000. Of those visits, about half were from Annapolis with an average duration

Fox, Cordle and MostAldermanic Candidates Responded to CP's Survey On Our Beleaguered Bus System; Cohen Suddenly Gets Real Interested

Our bus system has never received the attention or support it deserves from our city's leaders and I believe it is because it is often thought of as little more than welfare on wheels. Two of these city leaders running for mayor are now taking an interest because it is an election. Of the incumbent aldermen running for re-election, only one has chosen to respond to this survey. Candidates and

CP's Halloween Tradition...My Complaint About Excesses and Dentist-Sponsored Candy Buy-Backs

I guess it's a tradition. Every year I write an essay blasting Halloween--at least what it has become these days--a mass consumerist and gluttonous excess of an excuse to party with overtones of very weird symbols of cultural something or another. But what really gets me are these dentist-sponsored candy buybacks. This has become a huge thing all over the country and it is so ridiculous so

Cohen Decides Not To Introduce Priest Point's Amendment Tonight

County Councilman Josh Cohen has decided to pull the amendment to a bill concerning the development of Priest's Point waterfront at tonight's county council meeting. CP reported on controversy surrounding this in a post yesterday written by a local resident:

I will not be introducing an amendment tonight to change the County's
land use designation for Priests Point.  Thank you to everyone who

CP IS NOT ANONYMOUS...And It's Not Halloween Yet

As many readers know, there is a lot of smearing, ghost-searching, witch-hunting, "Boo-ing" and character assassination going on....and we have two weeks until the primary and over a month until Halloween.  If others wish to badmouth me or write ridiculous claims or accusations or otherwise maliciously and knowingly lie and spread falsehoods, that is their problem. It is also known as libel, a

Whewe!! Did Somebody Just Run Over A Skunk???

As part of my promise to HEAT things up I write the following. It has become widely known that an anonymous web-site has surfaced that is devoted solely to attacking Trudy McFall-and it is anonymous. CP was made aware of this yesterday afternoon, apparently before anyone else knew of it, by none other than Craig Purcell, sidekick of Chuck "Wacky" Weikel.

How did Purcell know about it so soon? And interestingly, just a day or two before, Purcell sent CP a copy of a 1994 Washington Post article that raised some questions about McFall's departure from her state job. In 1994. Which CP wrote about.

And now the big election announcement you have been waiting for: THE HEAT IS ON

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT I PROMISED. I hinted that this might just be a publicity stunt but you can make your own judgment.

People ask CP all the time "Which candidate are you voting for" and I answer everyone the same way. "I am voting for the same one you are."

They ask, "How do you know which one I am supporting?"

I answer, "Well you're voting for the candidate who you believe to be most qualified-right? So am I."

Who I support or endorse is not important and I have promised I will not endorse. However, I am thinking seriously about posting election predictions when the polls close on September 15th for the fun of it.

Were Candidates Blindsighted by Mayor's Interviews?

CP recently wrote to the mayoral candidates:

I viewed the recent interviews with mayoral candidates on the City's station. I understand that each candidate was invited to these interviews by the mayor. In her invitation, she wrote"

"You will be asked to: Identify your top three mayoral priorities. State why they are your priorities. State how you would achieve those goals."

After viewing the interviews, it is clear that while that was the first question, there were many additional questions, most if not all of which might appear to be either leading, require an unusual degree of preparation or perhaps designed to catch interviewees off-guard.

Last Night's "Education" Debate....

...continued to educate CP and perhaps the others in attendance--who mainly appeared to be the core supporters of the candidates. It's a shame it was in the high school auditorium but it made it look empty. Thanks to Pam Bukowski and the PTSA for doing this, but I think the last week of August is beach time. Cordle, Cohen and Fox were unable to attend and each had a representative read a statement.
Yes, we all care deeply about our children. Yes they are our future. Yes the mayor can and should be involved and yes as mayor you will meet regularly with the superintendent and you will be involved in the schools etc.
