Double Standard, W vs. BHO

If George W. Bush were such an idiot . . . .
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is [...]

CBS Headline: Meet Iran’s George W. Bush

Crossposted from Flopping Aces

By way of Gateway Pundit:
CBS compares Iran’s Holocaust denier, womens right’s abuser, America-hating radical to George W. Bush.
CBS republishes vile New Republic article–
Meet Iran’s George W. Bush

On June 12, Iranian voters will choose among four leading candidates for president, but their real choice is singular: whether to continue on the course plotted [...]

INFLATION LOOMS: O’S DEFICIT DILEMMA

By Dick Morris
It’s increasingly looking like President Obama may be sunk by his own deficit.
Yes, the recession started under George W. Bush — and voters will still blame him for unemployment and related woes. But rising interest rates and inflation are the coming fears — and Americans will increasingly see Obama’s big-spending ways as the [...]

Will RNC Punish Arlen Specter?

Yet more evidence that former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele is in way over his head as RNC Chairman.
It’s foolish to publicly discuss “retribution” against Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), or anyone else.  President George W. Bush was wrong using the RNC to back incumbents like Specter and former Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) in primary challenges.  [...]

There They Go Again

What is it with the Laslo Boyds and Barry Rascovars of the Maryland political scene? Why is it that they continually engage in straw man arguments then gleefully exalt around the pyre like the pagan women from The Wicker Man? Seriously, is it too much to ask for these two supposed political experts to actually understand the definitions of the terms they are using?

Last week it was Boyd, this week it is Rascovar in a Gazette column about Bob Ehrlich. I’m not going to argue the obvious fact of the mountain sized hurdle Maryland Republicans face in this state. It was there during Ehrlich’s term and will be there for some time to come.

Obama’s Mini-Me: E.J. Dionne, a Once Must-Read Columnist

-- Richard E. Vatz

In the ignominious history of politicians who used regular newspaper columnists as mouthpieces, sometimes in return for access, now comes Barack Obama and E.J. Dionne, Obama’s Mini-Me. Other presidents have had similar arrangements, including Walter Winchell and, in perhaps his only near scandal, columnist George F. Will was accused of covertly priming presidential candidate Ronald Reagan for a debate which he (Will) then evaluated without explicitly mentioning his role as debate aide. In the ensuing years Will has never had a hint of such questionable ethics. (On the other side, we have had official mouthpieces who became traitors after leaving their positions, such as Scott McClellan, former press secretary to George W.

Republican Katja Bullock will be returning home from her stint in the Bush administration next month, but she still has no idea what she'll be doing for a living.

Bullock works in the administration as special assistant to the president for presidential personnel and was elected vice-chair of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee last week.

Gilchrest: 'I voted for Martin O'Malley'

ANNAPOLIS -- U.S. Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-Kennedyville), who has been notorious for reaching across the aisle in recent months, has done more than just endorse and praise Democratic candidates - he's voted for one.

"I voted for Martin O'Malley," Gilchrest said of Maryland's Democratic governor at an award ceremony at the Westin Hotel on Monday.

EASTON -- Republican Anne Kimberly hosted her first fundraiser for a Democrat on Friday. It was for Congressional candidate Frank Kratovil (D-Stevensville).

Kimberly's first husband was former U.S. Rep. Rogers Morton (R-Talbot County), who represented Maryland's 1st Congressional District in the 1960s and early 1970s.

She said Kratovil's stump speech "was very nice" and free of sound bites.

Web ad: Gaztanaga ties Ruppersberger to Bush

In a new web video, Libertarian candidate Lorenzo Gaztanaga is attacking U.S. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger's (D-Baltimore) vote in favor of Monday's controversial bailout plan.

"Dutch Ruppersberger supported George Bush's war in Iraq, supported George Bush's Patriot Act. Now, Dutch Ruppersberger voted for George Bush's bailouts," says a narrator in the Gaztanaga video. "Don't we want a representative in office that thinks?"
