Just Who Are We Really Protecting Thanks To John McCain ?

On the subject of terrorism congress should have asked that question of McCain’s amendment to ban “cruel, inhuman, or degrading” treatment of any prisoners by an agent of the United States which the Senate voted in favor of 30-9. (www.weeklystandard.com Charles Krauthammer, 5/7/09.)

Hypocrisy on Parade - The Chuck and Lindsay Show

Is there any wonder that the Republicans are back to being the minority party?  When we have “spokesmen” like Sen. Lindsay Graham (?-SC) it’s little wonder that John McCain didn’t just lose - he went down in flames.

Profiles in Asshattery

Laslo Boyd really doesn’t know his head from his ass when it comes to conservatives or Republicans. Sure he may know polls and power politics, but his latest column is littered with many straw men and sand pounding ignorance of what conservatism is.

The modern Republican Party, exemplified by the hyper-partisanship of Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay and Bob Ehrlich, the Ronald Reagan and George Bush philosophy that government regulation is always the problem and the private sector is always the solution, and the long-held belief that the answer to any question is to cut taxes, has been thoroughly discredited by the last eight years.

With hours left, Harris picks up the phone

SALISBURY -- With just hours until Election Day, Republican Andy Harris is spending the little time he has left campaigning to get out the vote.

Harris spent Monday phone banking and waving signs throughout the district. He said he made roughly 100 phone calls and was flattered when people asked, "Is this really you?"

However, the process does have its low points. "Sometimes I think they think it's a robocall and they hang up," Harris told PolitickerMD.com at the Salisbury state GOP HQ.

"I think given the fear over an Obama presidency, I think that's gonna turnout conservative voters," Harris told PolitickerMD.com at the Pasadena parade at Tick Neck Park. "They're not gonna vote for the Obama-Kratovil team."

Chair baby chair? Steele hasn't mentioned it says spokeswoman

Recent rumors suggest former Lt. Gov. Michael Steele (R-Prince George's County)  -- the current chair of GOPAC -- may have his sights on the Republican National Committee's chairmanship, but a spokeswoman for Steele says the rumors are coming from the mouths of others, not Steele himself.

"He hasn't talked about it," Belinda Cook, GOPAC's special assistant to the chairman, told PolitickerMD.com.
