Could Gilchrest's next gig be in the Obama administration?

Outgoing U.S. Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-Kennedyville) may be leaving Congress, but that doesn't mean he'll necessarily be leaving Washington, D.C. Gilchrest's name is being kicked around as a potential candidate for a position at the Environmental Protection Agency.

"He'd be a great pick," Gene Ransom, a Democratic Queen Anne's County Commissioner, told PolitickerMD.com. "I also think Obama's very serious about brining Republicans in."

Four environmental groups endorse Kratovil, criticize Harris

Democrat Frank Kratovil received endorsements from four environmental groups on Monday including Clean Water Action, Environment Maryland, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, and the Maryland Sierra Club.

In a joint statement, the four groups bashed Kratovil's opponent, state Sen. Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville), and praised the state's Attorney from Stevensville. "It is essential that we continue to have members of Congress who will stand up and speak out to protect the Chesapeake Bay," said David Phelps, national political director for Clean Water Action.
