Capital: Nader lands in Annapolis, lambasts slots

Ralph Nader flew into Annapolis on Wednesday to voice his opposition to November's slots referendum, according to The Capital.

"We oppose it because gambling is a sign of moral and economic decay," Nader said at a press conference. "Its benefits have been always exaggerated and its negatives have been under-emphasized."

Maryland Greens to hold nominating assembly

[img_assist|nid=461|title=The Green Party|desc=|link=none|url=undefined|align=right|width=160|height=62]The Maryland Green Party plans to meet next Saturday, May 3, at Towson University to elect delegates for its national presidential nominating convention.

The Maryland assembly is entitled to send 16 delegates to the Chicago convention to be held July 10 to 13. There are currently 7,860 registered members of the Green Party in Maryland, making it the state’s third largest political affiliation.

Local professor vies for Green Party nomination
