Matthews puts 'a little thought' into running for office again

Despite being defeated by a 46 point spread in his bid for the 2nd Congressional District seat, Republican Richard Matthews said he was satisfied with the results and his campaign's efforts.

Matthews ran a gentle and issue-focused campaign against incumbent U.S. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Baltimore).

"It was a hard environment," Matthews told PolitickerMD.com, adding it was his first bid for any elected office. "It was definitely a bad day for Republicans last night."
