Making Sense of The Election...and Who Won Our Reader's Contest?

Congratulations to Josh Cohen and all the other victorious candidates--Dick Israel, Fred Paone, Classie Hoyle, Sheila Finlayson, Mat Silverman, Kenny Kirby, Ian Pfeiffer  and Ross Arnett. They have a big job and a tough job ahead.  We should all wish them well and pledge our support as citizen-activists to help them be as successful as they can be in representing our collective interests as

Is It Fair to Attack Ross Arnett on Budget and Taxes?

(Note to readers. Because of my residency in Ward Eight and my relationship with both Ross Arnett and Rock Toews, I took the unusual step of sending the draft of this to each of them in advance. Each of them was invited to respond and Toews' response follows my piece. Reader's comments as always, are welcomed, if the writer is clearly identified.)

Pip and Zastrow--A Much Needed Perspective About Our Town..and about racism

Although I publicized "Pip and Zastrow" when it first came out, I missed the big public screening and I never got to see it. Fortunately Alderman Ross Arnett lent me his copy and I watched it with my family--intently. Having known of and met Pip and Zastrow many times over the years made the film all the more exciting. Being a long-time resident of Annapolis made the movie all the more

Shropshire Is In...Weikel files for Democratic Central Committee...Republicans Mount Challenges

As of 10:00 pm Monday, this is what we can learn from the city's web-site about last minute filings for candidates:

Sam Shropshire FINALLY got listed as of 10 pm. Late. Late. Late.....why would he wait so late? According to one observer, "Sam dramatically left the Council Chamber at 8:40 to file for mayor. Came back looking like a winner."

We now have a Republican challenger to government relations consultant and Democrat Ian Pfeiffer in Ward Seven. Her name is Jennifer Monteith of 3 Silverwood Circle #6. Apparently she is a science fiction writer and a business marketing consultant (this information based on a brief internet search).

Local Democratic Leader Says "It is time we read Chuck Weikel out of the Democratic Party..."

Geeeze Louise.....Where to begin? More from Wacky Chuck Wiekel! Readers have been following
some of Weikel's outrageous acts and if you are among the lucky hundreds who receive or who
are forwarded his regular email missives, you'll understand what this post is about.
Where to begin??? Weikel, and often his counterpart Craig Purcell (think Batman and Robin,
or Gannon and Friday) are constantly sending emails back and forth
complaining or whining about some such thing, but mainly attacking and defaming
individuals (usually Democrats)and spreading gossip, and they send these
emails to reporters, elected officials, civic activists and just about anyone they can.
Much of this would not matter except that Weikel is a member of the county Democratic
Central Committee! He is finally beginning to receive some
of the attention he deserves from Democratic leaders who should see him as much if not
more of a problem than Republicans saw Joyce Thomann (remember--Hitler-Obama?) Below
I attempt to put the various chains in some kind of
order and provide some context so readers can see for themselves.
