ENDORSEMENTS.

Already Trudy McFall and Greg Stiverson have politely and respectfully declined to be considered for an endorsement by our firefighters. Bold move. Good move. I applaud you. Of course, we all know who is likely to get that endorsement anyhow--right?

At least the firefighters are gathering information and deliberating before making their choice.

Already Josh Cohen has gotten the AFSCME, the Plumbers Union, former Alderman Mike Fox (he's a Republican, a county employee and Josh Cohen is still a county councilman--weird?) and of course FOE Alderwoman Sheila Finlayson, who happens to be a long time teacher's unionist.

Blackberry? Greenberry? Huckleberry? The Sierra Club and the Kenny Kirby-Chuck Weikel Axis

The Sierra Club is polling candidates via email for endorsement purposes and at least one candidate did not respond after 17 days and so the club wrote to him (and possibly other candidates) the following:

We have not seen a response yet to the candidate questionnaire sent to you July 31, with a request that it be completed and returned by August 15 if you wish to be considered for endorsement by the Anne Arundel Sierra Club . In fairness to those candidates who have taken the time to offer, and put on record, their positions on environmental issues in the city, we will be unable to consider endorsements of any who do not respond.

At Kratovil fundraiser, Sierra Club rep calls Harris ‘vicious'

EASTON -- The legislative chair of the Sierra Club's Maryland chapter says Republican Andy Harris "is one of the most vicious people you could possibly imagine."

Jan Graham made the comments at a fundraiser for Congressional candidate Frank Kratovil (D- Stevensville) on Friday.

"I testified before Andy Harris's committee on more than one occasion. Andy Harris is one of the most vicious people you could possibly imagine," Graham told the crowd about the state Senator from Cockeysville who is Kratovil's Republican opponent.
