Van Hollen attacks McCain over Social Security

Eighth district Rep. and Democratic Congressional Campaigns Committee chairman Chris Van Hollen assailed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) yesterday for his remarks that the Social Security system is "an absolute disgrace."

On Wednesday, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate told a Portsmouth, Ohio audience that "we are paying present-day retirees with the taxes paid by young workers in America today.

"And that's a disgrace. It's an absolute disgrace, and it's got to be fixed."
