Lt. Gov. awarded role in Obama transition

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D-Prince George's County) has landed a job in President-elect Barack Obama's transition efforts.

Brown will be one of two co-chairs of the Agency Review Team for the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to Mike Raia, Brown's press secretary.

Brown is now the second Marylander to land a job with the transition team. Maryland Labor Secretary Tom Perez is a member of the Obama Transition Project's Agency Review Working Group.

The shortlist for U.S. Attorney

Below is a short list of potential candidates to be Maryland's next U.S. Attorney:

Orlan Johnson - Business attorney at Saul Ewing law firm. Raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Obama, according to USA Today.

Glenn Ivey - Prince George's County state's attorney.
