Retreat first

From Powerline
The editors of the Washington Post examine the “Pakistan First” policy being championed by Vice President Biden in response to the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. Under this approach, the U.S. would put Afghanistan on the “back burner” and attack al Qaeda targets in Pakistan with drones or special forces, while backing the government [...]

Nothing to fear but Fears himself

From
Powerline
We have not heard anything from Washington Post reporters Darryl Fears and Carol Leonnig in response to “Sliming James O’Keefe: A case study.” I think it’s fair to conclude that Fears and Leonnig have no quote from O’Keefe to support their imputation of racial motives to him, and that what the Post has done [...]

The problem is they think Van Jones is normal

by Laryn
In a Page One story today, the Washington Post pointed out that the vetters failed President Obama by greenlighting the appointment of Van Jones to a White House post.
The Washington Post reported:
Jones, a towering figure in the environmental movement, had issued two public apologies in recent days. One was for signing a [...]

I am not feeling well today. Sorry!
However, I will leave you with this article from Flopping Aces.
Did Waterboaring JUST THREE Terrorists Save American Lives?
You be the judge. A remarkable article in the Washington Post describes how cooperative Khalid Sheikh Mohammed became after tough interrogations!
You’ll want to read the whole article. Here’s an excerpt:
How a Detainee [...]

Obama Healthcare Plan Advisor: It’s not a DEATH PANEL, but a “GOD COMMITTEE”

Crossposted from Flopping Aces
“You can’t avoid these questions,” Dr. Emanuel said in an Aug. 16 Washington Post interview. “We had a big controversy in the United States when there was a limited number of dialysis machines. In Seattle, they appointed what they called a ‘God committee’ to choose who should get it, and that committee [...]

Whewe!! Did Somebody Just Run Over A Skunk???

As part of my promise to HEAT things up I write the following. It has become widely known that an anonymous web-site has surfaced that is devoted solely to attacking Trudy McFall-and it is anonymous. CP was made aware of this yesterday afternoon, apparently before anyone else knew of it, by none other than Craig Purcell, sidekick of Chuck "Wacky" Weikel.

How did Purcell know about it so soon? And interestingly, just a day or two before, Purcell sent CP a copy of a 1994 Washington Post article that raised some questions about McFall's departure from her state job. In 1994. Which CP wrote about.

The Death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy: What Should One Emphasize in Eulogizing Him?

From Red Maryland
–Richard E. Vatz
When newspapers have significant warning of an icon’s death, you can bet that the next day the obituaries will be of a small book’s length, and so it was in The Washington Post and The New York Times today, pursuant to the death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who at 77 [...]

Purcell (and Weikel?) Dredging Up Muck About McFall....or so they think

Peripatetic former resident and Wacky Wiekel sidekick Craig Purcell has a thing (as does Weikel) against Trudy McFall. They recently started their own blog where they...well nevermind. I've given them enough attention about that already. In their quixotic cyber-quest which they label "the Elusive Search for Truth in Annapolis Politics" Purcell sends me an email that reads:

"As a fellow blogger and close follower of the Annapolis political scene & current races I thought you might be interested in the attached document making the rounds of cyberspace - I am not going to publish it because my interest is not so much in the machinations & internecine warfare among the pols but rather on the issues such as .

The Washington Post’s Excellent Foray into Intensity of Public Opinion: Will All Serious Media Follow Suit?

From Red Maryland
–Richard E. Vatz
For years I have been writing about the invalid media public opinion polls which preponderantly inhabit our political landscape. People wonder why so many polls are wrong beyond their margins of error. Neil Newhouse of the NBC-Wall Street Journal poll stated after the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic polling debacle that “We [...]
