Maryland: Weikel

In reverse chronological order, these emails document some of the internal conflict ripping the local Democratic party apart--much of it due to the attitudes and actions of Boss Ellen and her henchman,Chuck Weikel.  Weikel has made a career of dissension, character assassination and attacking other Democrats publicly--AND PERHAPS CLANDESTINELY....and is a member of the central committee running

As part of my promise to HEAT things up I write the following. It has become widely known that an anonymous web-site has surfaced that is devoted solely to attacking Trudy McFall-and it is anonymous. CP was made aware of this yesterday afternoon, apparently before anyone else knew of it, by none other than Craig Purcell, sidekick of Chuck "Wacky" Weikel.

How did Purcell know about it so soon? And interestingly, just a day or two before, Purcell sent CP a copy of a 1994 Washington Post article that raised some questions about McFall's departure from her state job. In 1994. Which CP wrote about.

The Sierra Club is polling candidates via email for endorsement purposes and at least one candidate did not respond after 17 days and so the club wrote to him (and possibly other candidates) the following:

In fairness to those candidates who have taken the time to offer, and put on record, their positions on environmental issues in the city, we will be unable to consider endorsements of any who do not respond.

As of 10:00 pm Monday, this is what we can learn from the city's web-site about last minute filings for candidates:

Sam Shropshire FINALLY got listed as of 10 pm. Late. Late. Late.....why would he wait so late? According to one observer, "Sam dramatically left the Council Chamber at 8:40 to file for mayor. Came back looking like a winner."

We now have a Republican challenger to government relations consultant and Democrat Ian Pfeiffer in Ward Seven. Her name is Jennifer Monteith of 3 Silverwood Circle #6. Apparently she is a science fiction writer and a business marketing consultant (this information based on a brief internet search).
