Mass. GOP delegation to aid Gustav relief effort

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - As part of the Republican National Convention relief efforts to help those impacted by Hurricane Gustav, the Massachusetts delegation will head to Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon to assemble packets to be shipped to the Gulf Coast, according to the party.

The delegation will leave their hotel, the Crowne Plaza in Bloomington, at 1 p.m. CST and head to the convention center in Minneapolis, Rob Willington, the executive director of the party said. There, the RNC has set up stations for delegates to assemble relief packages.

"It's the right thing to do," said Jack Roy, a delegate from Haverhill. "That's what being an American is all about. I'm happy to do it."
