Kerry to New Hampshire for Obama Sat.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry will head up to New Hampshire on Saturday for two events on behalf of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, according to Obama's campaign.

John Kerry (D-Boston)|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=180|height=169]Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, will canvass in Nashua at 1:30 p.m. before heading to a "Veterans to Veterans Voter Contact Event" in Manchester at 3 p.m.

In the announcement, the Obama campaign said Kerry will draw on his experiences in 2004 when he faced false character attacks from the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to address Republican presidential nominee John McCain's recent character attacks on Obama.

"The phone calls that Sen. McCain is using in the Granite State and across the country to scare voters and spread misinformation about Sen. Obama are incredibly offensive and demonstrate McCain's desperate attempt to distract from the economy," said Sandra Abrevaya, Obama's New Hampshire Communications Director.  "We're thrilled that Sen. Kerry will be in the state this weekend to combat these false claims about Sen. Obama and discuss why Sen. McCain represents more of the same failed Republican leadership."

The Boston Democrat has been a frequent surrogate for Obama both on television and on the stump.
