Mid-morning read: Wilkerson resignation rumors, Rockefeller Republicans and an ethics task force

State Sen. Dianne Wilkerson will face hell to pay with prominent black ministers if she doesn't resign by Wednesday.

But sources in Wilkerson's meeting with those ministers say she will resign on Wednesday.

Boston's black voters have mixed emotions about the election.

Rockefeller Republicans may be facing extinction.

An unknown lawmaker has been subpoenaed in the grand jury investigation of Richard Vitale, who allegedly received illegal lobbying payments from ticket brokers.

Gov. Deval Patrick is establishing an ethics task force to prevent bribery and lobbying scandals on Beacon Hill.

And Patrick, who has repeatedly said he is not interested in joining a possible Obama administration, said he is expecting to be challenged for re-election in 2010.
