Vigeant: Today the hard work pays off

MARLBOROUGH - Arthur Vigeant, the Republican vying for Middlesex County's 4th District House seat, said Tuesday morning that he hopes Election Day will justify all of the hard work he and his staff have put into the campaign.

"Today's payday," Vigeant told PolitickerMA.com as he greeted voters entering the polling place at the Francis J. Kane School. "Today is what you do all the work for."

Vigeant is running against Marlborough Democrat Danielle Gregoire for state Rep. Stephen LeDuc's seat. Both Gregoire and Vigeant were at this polling place Tuesday morning, greeting as many voters as possible.

Asked to reflect on his campaign, Vigeant said this team had to work very hard because he felt he wasn't as well known in the district as his opponent, Gregoire. But, he said, he thinks his campaign effectively got his message out.

"All the polls and the speculation go out the window today and it comes down to the final vote," he said. "We made the calls and sent the mailings, now it's up to the people to decide."
