Republican State Sen. Scott Brown is scheduled to attend a holiday party in Western Massachusetts Tuesday evening, according to an invitation to the event obtained by PolitickerMA.com.

The event is being hosted by the Berkshire County Republican Association in Pittsfield, one of the last cities in Massachusetts before the New York border. Brown, who represents the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex state Senate district, "is travelling here specifically to meet members of the [Berkshire Country Republican Association] and to begin building a stronger coalition of Republican throughout the state," according to the invitation.

Brown is often rumored to be interested in pursuing statewide office. Coming off a strong defeat of Democratic challenger Sara Orozco this year, Brown told PolitickerMA.com that he would consider running in a special election for John Kerry's U.S. Senate seat in the event that he was tapped to become secretary of state.
