Turner makes appearance at first council meeting since arrest

Henriquez mulls run for Turner’s seat, whether Turner is in it or not

Carlos Henriquez, who ran against and lost to embattled Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner in 2007, is mulling a run for the council's 7th District seat again in 2009.

"I have been considering since 2007 - running again in 2009," Henriquez told PolitickerMA.com. "I haven't come to a definite decision yet in light of what is going on right now. It is something that I have been considering regardless of what has happened in the neighborhood."

Feeney ‘saddened’ by Turner arrest, strips committee assignments

Turner arrested for taking $1,000 bribe, lying about it

Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner was arrested Friday morning for accepting a $1,000 bribe to help a Boston nightclub obtain a liquor license and then falsely telling the FBI that he didn't take the money, according to the FBI criminal complaint.

U.S. Attorney’s office confirms arrest, Turner to appear in Worcester Friday afternoon

Christina DiIorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan, just confirmed to PolitickerMA.com Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner's arrest this morning.

DiIorio-Sterling said the details surrounding the arrest are under seal right now under orders from the federal judge. She expects that some of those details may be released around 9:30 a.m.

Turner will appear at the federal court in Worcester today, DiIorio-Sterling said. That is expected to take place around 3 p.m.

Turner arrested

Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner was arrested Friday morning in connection with the ongoing investigation into state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson, WBZ-TV is reporting.

WBZ-TV reports that Turner was arrested at Boston City Hall.

Chang-Diaz ready to ‘go to the mat’ for Suffolk-2

BOSTON -- Sonia Chang-Diaz told reporters Friday that she was shocked and saddened by state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson's arrest on bribery charges this week and that she is slightly relieved Wilkerson decided to end her campaign, which Chang-Diaz said is in the best interest of the district.

Chang-Diaz on Wilkerson’s arrest

Responding to state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson's arrest Tuesday, Sonia Chang-Diaz, who defeated her in the Democratic primary this year and was facing her again in the general election, said the arrest unfortunately turns people away from engaging in the political process.

In a statement, Chang-Diaz said Wilkerson's arrest on corruption charges saddened her.
