Jones: 3-seat loss disappointing, but incumbent Republicans did well

State House Minority Leader Brad Jones said Wednesday that the loss of three seats in his Republican caucus is tough to take, but he said he took solace in all incumbent Republican representatives winning re-election.

The Republican caucus in the state House of Representatives shrunk by three - from 19 to 16 - on Tuesday as Democrats picked up seats vacated by Republicans Reps. Mary Rogeness, Paul Loscocco and John Lepper.

Haley: Dykema ran a great race

Holliston Republican Dan Haley had nothing but positive things to say on Wednesday about Democrat Carolyn Dykema, who beat him in the race for Middlesex County's 8th House District Tuesday.

With all precincts reporting, the Boston Globe reports that Dykema earned 52 percent of the vote and Haley earned 48 percent.
