Rasmussen: Plurality of Mass. voters think Mass. health care plan would be good for country

A plurality of Massachusetts voters in a recent survey believe that Massachusetts' health care plan, which requires everyone to obtain insurance and provides subsidized health care for those who cannot afford it, would be good for the country.

The Rasmussen Reports poll, which was conducted on Dec. 9, found that 40 percent of 500 respondents believed the plan would be good for the rest of the country. Twenty-eight percent said it would be bad for the country, while 11 percent said it would have no impact and 20 percent said they were not sure.

Rasmussen: Romney trails Palin as 2012 frontrunner

Former Gov. Mitt Romney, who is often the subject of speculation surrounding a possible 2012 presidential run, significantly trails Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in a recent survey of who Republican voters see as the frontrunner for 2012.

The Rasmussen poll, conducted the day after the election and released on Friday, showed that 64 percent of 1,000 likely Republican voters would support Palin over Romney, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

Most support banning dog racing, Rasmussen poll says

Half of the respondents in Rasmussen's recent poll said they support banning dog racing in the Bay State.

Fifty-percent of 500 likely voters said they support Question 3, the ballot measure that would prohibit any dog racing in the state where betting occurs. Thirty-seven percent said they were opposed to the measure while 13 percent were unsure.

10-point advantage for supporters of Question 2

Rasmussen Report's recent survey also shows that more respondents favor Question 2, the ballot measure that would decriminalize possession of an ounce or less of marijuana.

In the survey of 500 likely Massachusetts voters, 51 percent said they support the measure, 41 were opposed and 9 percent said they were unsure.

There was a 4.5 percent margin of error in the poll.

Opposition to Question 1 hold near 2-to-1 advantage

Undecideds appear to be breaking against Question 1, the ballot measure that would abolish the state income tax, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll.

The survey of 500 likely Massachusetts voters found that 33 percent are supporting the measure, 59 percent are against it and only 8 percent are unsure.

There was a 4.5 percent margin of error in the poll.

Rasmussen: Patrick’s job approval dips to 38 percent

Rasmussen: Kerry up 32 on Beatty

John Kerry continues to carry a significant lead over Republican challenger Jeff Beatty, the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports shows.

According to the survey of 500 likely voters, Kerry leads Beatty 63 percent to 31 percent. One percent of respondents answered "other" and 5 percent were undecided.
