Willington confirms, leaving Mass. GOP

Robert Willington confirmed in an email Saturday night that he is leaving his post as executive director of the Massachusetts Republican Party.

"I will be leaving the Massachusetts GOP," he wrote to PolitickerMA.com.

In his email, Willington stressed the use of new media technology in building the party. During his tenure with the party, Willington has been instrumental in building an online presence.

Willington leaving Mass. GOP, according to his Twitter feed

Robert Willington is leaving his post as executive director of the Massachusetts Republican Party, according to his Twitter page.

"Packed up my office at MassGOP, 3 quick years there," his feed says.

Neither Willington nor a spokesman for the Massachusetts Republican Party immediately returned calls seeking comment.

Willington says GOP convention was a success; Palin is ready for media spotlight

Rob Willington, the executive director of the Massachusetts GOP, said Monday that the Republican National Convention successfully launched the next stage of nominee John McCain's campaign and that vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is ready to face an onslaught of media interviews.

Willington told PolitickerMA.com that the convention was "extremely successful" and that "people got a good look at who John McCain is and who Sarah Palin is."

Kerry camp says Mass. GOP should check out Monster.Com, not TMZ

A spokesman for U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-Boston) blasted the Massachusetts GOP Tuesday for their statement accompanying photos that surfaced TMZ.com earlier Tuesday.

Pictures of Kerry with college age kids that appear intoxicated in Nantucket were published on TMZ.com early Tuesday (PolitickerMA.com's Wally Edge commented on the photos here).

Mass. GOP plans to broadcast convention online

Hoping to bring Bay State Republicans as close to the action as possible, the Massachusetts GOP is planning to stream video from the Republican National Convention on its website.

Approximately 130 delegates, alternates and guests will represent the Bay State Sept. 1-4 at the GOP convention in St. Paul, Minn.
