National: Dick Cheney

Former Vice President Dick Cheney predicted a “high probability” of a nuclear or biological attack in the next few years.

“No class”:

Pelosi said one of her favorite moments from Inauguration Day was when Marine One lifted off the Capitol grounds, signifying former President George W. Bush’s exit from Washington. “It felt like a 10-pound anvil was lifted off my head,” she said.

That’s Hope and Change and putting “an end to the petty grievances” for you. But beyond that, what is so valuable about Pelosi’s head?

. . . To understand [Pelosi's] politics, think Huffington Post without the flashes of wit. Here is a typical Bush-bashing, cliché-ridden quote of hers: “The emperor has no clothes. When are people going to face the reality? Pull this curtain back!” Pelosi dismisses people who disagree as hoodwinked or stupid.

Good-Bye Cheney and W.

I fibbed Friday when I said I’d bid farewell today. Because faring well is the last thing I wish for you and the cabal that put and kept you in power for eight agonizing, atrocity-laden years.

Good-bye to your rip-offs, your malice, your arrogance, your ignorance, your outlawry, your denial, your deceit, your cronyism and your stubborn refusal to cease pushing the envelope in the department of shameless villainy. Goodbye to the administration you constructed of turdiness and explained with truthiness. To your smirk and your snarl. To your conscienceless cruelty. Good-bye to your corruption, your vanity, your world without grays.

The theme gets wider and deeper by the day. Cheney, Bush, Duncan Hunter, Karl Rove, Bill O'Reilly, William McGurn and a multitude of others all say torture works. They hint, or say directly, that Barack Obama would be foolish to give it up. They declare this would put America at risk of another 9/11. They say arguments to the contrary are "leftwing rubbish." Message: Not only should those who ordered and implemented torture not be prosecuted, they also deserve medals. Anybody who would deny U.S. intelligence agencies the torture tool undermines America and enables the mass murder of Americans.
