New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson today announced the endorsement of Nevada Assemblyman Moises “Mo” Dennis (D-Clark) for his presidential campaign.  It was the second Nevada legislators’ endorsement Richardson had received since Saturday, when he announced the endorsement of state Sen. Maggie Carlton (D-Clark) at a community mock caucus event targeting Hispanics.

“I’m very proud to receive this endorsement,” said Richardson.  “It means that I have momentum, particularly in the Hispanic community.  Mo Denis is a very effective assemblyman who’s done great things in the legislature.”

Denis, a two-term assemblyman from an overwhelmingly Hispanic district, praised Richardson’s policy proposals on education, saying that Richardson was “supportive of the things we need to do to make education the best we can for our kids.”

“It’s an honor to endorse him,” said Denis, “[Richardson] being Hispanic, but more importantly being the best candidate, which for me is important.  We want the best candidates we can and having someone who really understands our issues in Nevada and understands also the issues of our community.”
