Today's convention schedule

The third day of the Democratic National Convention will be called to order at 5:00 PM EST on Wednesday, with a theme of "Securing America's Future."

The day will begin with the nominating process for President, including nominating speeches for U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.), followed by a roll call vote.

The headline speaker will be vice presidential nominee, U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.).

Reid's energy summit kicks off Monday in Las Vegas

A two-day conference on creating clean energy technology -- co-hosted by U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-Searchlight) -- will bring prominent politicians from around the country to Las Vegas, beginning Monday.

The National Clean Energy Summit will feature presentations from former president Bill Clinton, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and billionaire political advocate T. Boone Pickens.

The summit, scheduled to be held at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, begins with a keynote speech from Clinton Monday afternoon and continues with a series of panels Tuesday.

RENO-The Nevada Democratic Convention has been gaveled to order and business has begun.  The morning's festivities will include former Pres. Bill Clinton speaking on behalf of N.Y. Sen. Hillary Clinton and, reportedly, actor Kal Penn speaking on behalf of Ill. Sen. Barack Obama.

Presidential preference voting will occur this afternoon along with elections of national delegates.
