Reject Reid Tea Party Protest - Nevada Tea Parties

Nevada spoke out today in fine fashion. In Carson City, NV our capitol, crowd estimates are between 2000-3000. The streets were lined with law abiding, tax paying, fiscally responsible, AMERICAN patriots whom have been labeled by the Obama DHS as "right wing extremists", this link IS THE REPORT. The funny side of that is that among our thousands that held tea parties in Nevada today...MANY were in fact Democrats. Welcome Democrats to the "domestic terrorist" category LOL! (Pictures from Carson from KRNV Channel 4 Reno). I even saw one sign that said "Obama-YES - Harry Reid - NO".

WASHINGTON – Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki confirmed in an interview Friday that he was inching closer to a 2010 challenge to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Searchlight), and said that he had begun the process of reaching out to national Republicans in an effort to lay the groundwork for a bid.

Analysts say Nov. 4 results will impact battle for Reid seat

In Nevada, the biggest race in 2010 begins on Nov. 4, 2008.

That's when three of the GOP's top prospects for derailing U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Searchlight) - U.S. Reps. Jon Porter (R-Henderson), Dean Heller (R-Carson City) and state Sen. Joe Heck (R-Henderson) - are up for re-election. Reid is something of a political behemoth and even in a moderate-to marginally conservative state will be difficult to knock off, analysts say, and strategists from both parties agree that these potential Reid challengers would be greatly assisted by victories.

Dems take early lead

The early voting numbers from the weekend look terrible for the GOP.

The fact that Democrats are ahead in Clark County is not a surprise.  But the roughly 2-to-1 turnout margin in the districts of U.S. Rep Jon Porter (R-Henderson), state Sen. Joe Heck (R-Henderson) and state Sen. Bob Beers (R-Las Vegas) spells serious trouble for the GOP.

Beers says 2010 Reid challenge unlikely

State Sen. Bob Beers (R-Las Vegas), widely seen as a rising star in Nevada Republican circles, said in a telephone interview with PolitickerNV.com that a 2010 challenge to U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-Searchlight) was unlikely.

"I've got a 13-year-old at home," said Beers, explaining that a move to Washington, D.C., would keep him away from his family. "I'm not currently contemplating running against [Reid]."

Jim Gibbons' call for a special session of the legislature June 23 is that he could potentially be providing a golden opportunity for the politician who could defeat him in 2010.

Analysis: Does Breeden stand a chance in SD-5?

LAS VEGAS-Months ago, intent on retaking the state senate, Nevada Democrats cast their sights on Senate District 5 as one of two key targets. But hopes of capturing the seat may be fading as their candidate, a self-described "political unknown," has failed to win the endorsement of one of the pillars of the state Democratic establishment, the Nevada State Education Association.
