Roll Call: Porter open to Reid challenge

U.S. Rep. Jon Porter is open to a 2010 run for U.S. Senate, he told the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call Monday.

"In January I'll take a look at the options that are out there," Porter said, according to the paper.

Porter, a three-term congressman, was ousted from his Las Vegas-area seat by Democrat Dina Titus in November. In the interview, Porter said he was currently focused on working with Titus in the transition effort.

Krolicki inches closer to Reid challenge

Poll: Titus holds narrow lead

Dina Titus (D-Las Vegas) holds a narrow 47 to 45 percent lead -- well within the 5 percent margin of error -- over U.S. Rep. Jon Porter (R-Las Vegas) according to a recent Research 2000 survey

The poll, commisioned by the liberal blog DailyKos.com, was conducted between Oct. 20 and 22.

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) holds a similar 48 to 44 percent lead over U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the district.
